Getting to know me!

Simply told...

I am the wife of one awesome man and the mother of two incredible children. I strive to live a life that pleases my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

But there's more to it than that...

After graduating from high school, I went straight to college. From there I went right into the classroom; and I spent 11 years teaching various grades in elementary and middle school. I earned my Masters of Education and became the curriculum coordinator at a local christian school. I worked in education until I had children and brought education to the home front by homeschooling them. I have been homeschooling for 6 years now and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Why homeschool...

Frankly, homeschool has not been all that easy or fun.  It has been a TON of hard work, but that is okay! I know the reason why I homeschool my children… I want my children to love God with all their hearts, souls, minds, and strength. Psalm 34:1 says “Come, my children, listen to me, and I will teach you the fear of the Lord.”  In Deuteronomy 6: 6-7 it says, “These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts. And you shall teach them diligently to your children.” I believe God has called me to teach my children so I do it out of obedience and love.

Other hats I wear...

I am the household CEO, responsible for cleaning, cooking, paying the bills, cleaning the clothes, and the list goes on. I am responsible for homeschooling our children, and I am the founder and director of our local co-op. I have my own business creating curriculum for public, private, and homeschool educators. I wear a lot of different hats and sometimes it’s hard to bear up under the stress of it all.

Why this blog...

I believe we are all in a similar position. We all wear many hats and are stressed as we juggle a variety of things in a single day. We need encouragement and resources to help each other make it in this multitasking, rat-race of a society. My goal is to provide help and encouragement in any way I can by sharing from the many things in my life that help me in my homeschooling endeavors and encourage me to keep going in a victorious manner with a positive outlook! The common theme will be that we can bear up under the stress.  We can do more than survive; we can THRIVE!
